A Christmas Reunion

by Donna

Our reunion is in December...a Christmas Reunion. This year is our 30th! So excited.

My Mom just recently passed away but for years she and I would do a "Christmas in July" week where we would address all of the envelopes for the reunion, get our recipes together and even make one of them to enjoy while we were working on the reunion. We would have our auction tickets torn and go through items for our silent auction which pays for the reunion.

Summer is a great time to check out garage sales for some really nice gently used or new Christmas items for the auction. Our kids love stuffed animals and you can find so many at yard sales for a quarter that are brand new.

We always try to stick with the Christmas theme. We would also double check our address list and even make the invitation so we would just have to make copies at a later date. I am hoping I can carry this tradition on by myself with my guardian angel Mom watching over my shoulder.
