Elk Lake Lodge in Montana
by Jennnie Holton
Just got back from a fantastic family reunion at Elk Lake Lodge in Montana.
I had a hard time when planning this reunion in finding an all-inclusive location that didn't bust the budget. Messing around with restaurants or cooking for that many people (we had 20), sounded like a nightmare.
Elk Lake Lodge was able to reserve the entire resort for our family, so we had the place to ourselves. Yellowstone Park was only 1 hour drive away, which made for a fun filled family outing day. The food served was fabulous and the owners made you feel like you were their family.
The cabins there may be viewed a bit rustic, but it fit well with the surrounding mountain scenery. All cabins have electricity and private full bathrooms, but there are no t.v.'s, internet, or cell phone service; which actually is perfect for getting the quality family time a reunion should have. We had campfires each night and the best star gazing.
The lodge can accommodate even larger parties than the 20 we had. Highly recommended! www.elklakeresortmontana.com
Elk Lake Resort - Centennial Valley, Montana
We strongly recommend Elk Lake Resort for your next family reunion!
My husband & I have hosted 2 different family reunions at Elk Lake and have always had such wonderful feedback from our relatives on how much fun they had.
The fantastic part is the food. The last thing you want to hassle with for a family reunion is trying to find restaurants to accommodate everyone or try to cook yourself for a large group each day (You would just be cooking the entire time!). Lerrina and her staff prepared 3 wonderful meals a day and completely catered to our choice of food and timing. It made for very easy planning. We ventured out one day to take in Yellowstone Park, but for the rest of the trip enjoyed ourselves sitting on the dock, boating, hiking and fishing. Each night we made a bonfire and gathered around under the stars to visit. I don't think you can find a better place for star gazing, either. The location is very secluded and quiet. You feel as if you have the whole mountain to yourself. In fact, our family was large enough to reserve the whole resort to ourselves, which was FABULOUS! Our two groups had kids as young as 2 to teenagers, with adults as old as 76. We would host any future family reunions again at Elk Lake in a heartbeat!

Brackett Creek Inn, Bozeman Montana
by Robert Johnson
(Santa Barbara, California)
Our family spent 5 days at the Brackett Creek Inn, nestled just past Bridger Bowl Ski area in the Bridger Mountains. There are a couple of things that made this venue stand out from many different places we have utilized over the years.
First, they can sleep up to 60 people under one roof! There are thirteen bedrooms and 4 two bed bunk rooms for the kids, some rooms have Two beds for families and others have one king bed, so there is lots of variance for different situations.
Second, the location is... well stunning! The facility sits on 70 acres with Brackett Creek running through the property, there is lots of activities, like volleyball, horseshoes, hiking, tons of trails and Yellowstone park is a couple of hours away.
Third, there are three kitchens one wing has two kitchens, one of them has two ovens and a professional restaurant style sink. The kitchen on the B wing is fabulous, two oversize serving bars, one measuring 4' x 14' long, three fridges and two ovens. I mention this, because when you are trying to feed 50 or more people, all these kitchen necessities are very helpful and very well suited for feeding large groups.
All in all I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a beautiful mountain getaway, relaxing and serene, with all the modern amenities!
