When you know the date of your family reunion or special event but aren't quite ready to send an official invitation or further event details, send a quick postcard announcement. All it needs to include is the DATE of your function, LOCATION (if known) and your CONTACT information in case someone has questions.

By announcing the date as soon as you can, you're helping your family reserve the necessary time on their schedules to make attending the family reunion a priority. After all, if no one knows about your family gathering, no one will attend. Announcing the date will also help serve as a deadline for participants to budget their time and money appropriately.
