Congratulations on your invite to speak at your family reunion. I recommend keeping your speech to 20 minutes or less because you may loose the attention of some of your audience after about 20 minutes or less and you don't want to exhaust yourself so that you can't enjoy the time with family. Use family photos to enhance or add impact to your speech. During your speech, you should share your wisdom, your heart and anything you deem valuable that you want to extend as a gift to the generations present at your family reunion.

As long as it needs to be by: Lydia
First of all, congratulations on surviving so many years of family! :-)
Make your speech as long as it needs to be to say what you want to say but short enough to leave everyone wanting for more. Clear as mud, right?
Have you been given a topic or theme? If not, there are several you could make up - the meaning of family, most memorable family reunion, lessons of life... something like that. That way, you have a concrete message to deliver and won't be tempted to ramble. I always think shorter is better - maybe 5-10 minutes, depending on what other activities or meeting agenda items are scheduled.
