McCall, Idaho

We have held two family reunions there. We have six families, with fourteen grandchildren and 15plus great grandchildren. Ages from infant to 70. It worked out well to rent multiple condos near each other in the same complex. Day trip to north beach was great. Nice to have a rental boat for the day. Between beach time, hiking, swimming and boating, everyone had enough together time w/out being on top of each other the whole weekend. McCall is beautiful, and its as centrally located as you can be in Idaho.

Ponderosa State Park is great, too.

We've had family reunions at Ponderosa State Park in McCall, too. It's a beautiful location! If you're camping in Idaho, you should consider it.

Bear Lake - Idaho/Utah border

Bear Lake

Bear Lake

Our family has spent years visiting Bear Lake. The lake itself is stunning. Plus it's easily accessible and has lots of shallow water for the little kids. There are tons of large vacation homes on the Utah side that offer ample space for families wanting to stay together.

Squirrel Creek Ranch sits amid beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife and offers the perfect family reunion location or vacation rental for those seeking a laid-back country feel. Accommodations include cabins, lodge, ranch house, RV park, tent spots and a large pavilion. You can reserve part of it or all of it, depending on your family's size and needs. There are plenty of spaces for the kids to play and/or to organize games for the family reunion. The ranch is family owned and operated and you'll deal with the owners from the time you make your initial contact until you check out. You can bring your own food or have your meals catered. There are tons of opportunities to fish, hunt, hike and explore the property and surrounding area. Whatever you need or want to do, the ranch can help. All you have to do is ask. We just got home from the Squirrel Creek Ranch and had a ball. You can read more about our experience here.

Squirrel Creek Location
by: Anna

I don't think there could be a better mix of together/apart space. With our own bathroom and bedrooms, we could get away when we needed too. But there were also several places we could all be together in the kitchen/living area, and the outdoor pavilion. Squirrel Creek was perfect in that regard.
