Storybooks, Games & Family Bonding Activities

	This storybook is a brief life history of my husband's grandmother. When my son first looked at the pictures, he innocently asked, "Grandma Great used to be a little girl?"
	This storybook tells the love story of my grandparents. In it you discover how they learned to work and why work is such an important family value. My grandparents fought a lot but ultimately worked to stay married.
	We live some distance from family but I still want my kids to know their cousins. So this book features several pictures and a few facts about EACH of their cousins on both sides of the family. My kids were excited to learn that some of their cousins share their same favorite colors, books and interests.

FAMILY TRIVIA

Playing this family trivia game is one of my favorite family bonding activities. The playing "board" is a framed poster. I made the trivia cards by personalizing a deck of playing cards. And the instructions and answers to all the trivia questions are printed inside a 5x5 book. There are 5 questions on each card - some of the specifically catered to the individual and some of them more general in nature. Since we started playing this trivia game as a family, one son has learned that he shares the same birthday as a great grandfather and the other has decided that playing the piano (like his great grandmother did) isn't so bad.

{As a side note, I've never really gotten into scrapbooking, but Heritage Makers - and the ability to do everything digitally - has kind of changed that. This "Roots" book shows my ancestry three generations back. It has brief bios about me, my parents, grandparents and great grandparents. I love it! My parents and kids love it, too.

I made these wooden decor blocks by cutting two 12x12 prints into pieces and then gluing them onto pieces of a leftover 2x4 board from the garage. This project template - and complete instructions - can be found in the template gallery.
