Dear Family Reunion Friends,

As I'm writing this update, it occurs to me that I love my job! Actually, it doesn't even feel right to say "job," as most of the time, my websites don't feel like work.

But I do love what I do. For you see, as you're reading this, I am with my family on the Oregon coast!

The ability to pre-write and then schedule a newsletter mailing is just ONE of the MANY tools that SBI! gives me to run a successful online business.

I used to dream of earning money online and I have to tell you, now that I'm here, it seems surreal. My income certainly isn't making us rich but it IS supplementing our family fun and providing us things like summer vacations. {So maybe we are rich, after all!}

Sometimes I get what I call "magic money" - unexpected affiliate income automatically deposited into my checking account. Isn't that the most amazing thing ever!? I can't get used to it. But I do love it!

I also get lots of advertising requests from various vendors. I always consider those on a case-by-case basis and, to be honest, turn most of them away, as the content of my site and YOU, the visitor, is always first and foremost in my mind.

{So, if ever you see something on the site that rubs you the wrong way, please let me know so that I can fix it!}

Life is about more than money and so is my website! Our FAMILIES are truly the most important thing in this world. It brings me great joy to think that my "job" helps strengthen families across many generations!

You know, our roles as family reunion planners and attendees and as self-designated family historians can be difficult. It's hard to pull everyone together and there are always financial challenges and varying opinions on how things should work.

Think of it this way - Anything truly GOOD in life takes WORK. And the harder you work for something, the sweeter its reward.

SO DON'T EVER GIVE UP! What we do is important!

If you are like most family reunion goers, your reunion is around the corner and you're pulling final details together. Maybe somewhat frantically?? (Been there, done that!)

Don't forget the "last minute" ONLINE PLANNING TOOLS that will help as you're headed out the door -

"Punt! The family reunion planning guide for when you don't have time to plan" is full of everything you need for games, conversation starters and meeting tips. I specifically designed it so that you could read it on your way to the reunion and arrived prepared!

Ask a question online or browse what others have already asked. The solution to your problem at hand just might already be there.

Take some games! If you have time to order it, I highly recommend Great Games! 175 Games & Activities for Families, Groups, & Children! It's the book we always take along for on-the-spot play.

For the kids, I love the printable treasure hunt games from Treasure Adventure. They are *SUPER EASY* to plan and set up, since all you have to do is click the "print" button.

Life is good.

I wish you and your family happy travels, a safe family reunion and continued SUCCESS in the weeks ahead,

Lydia
